Here are 31 characteristics that show we are walking in the fear of the Lord. There is one for every day of the month. Share them with your family too:
If we are walking in the fear of the Lord. . .
1. We will not withhold from God whatever He asks of us (Genesis 22:12).
2. We will keep from sinning (Exodus 20:20, and Deuteronomy 4:9, 10).

6. We will not despise the blind or deaf (Leviticus 19:14).
7. We will show honor to the aged (Leviticus 19:32)

13. We will be morally clean and pure (Psalm 19:9).
14. We will walk in wisdom (Job 28:28; Psalm 111:10; Proverbs1:7; 9:10; and 15:33).
15. We will walk uprightly (Proverbs 14:2).
16. We will serve the Lord in sincerity and truth (Deuteronomy 6:13; 10:20; Joshua 24:14; 1 Samuel 12:14, 15, 24; Psalm 2:11; and Hebrews 12:28).

I hope you are brave enough to read this post after reading the title. We don't want to hear about such things as fear and trembling. We'd rather read about hope, love, joy, and all the lovely things we can think about. H
Godly families who hold fast to God's truth are the desperate need of this nation. Isaiah 26:2 says, "Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation, which keepeth the truth may enter in." The word "keepe
Did you know that Christ is referred to as the COMING ONE? Hebrews 10:37 (HCSB) says, "For yet in a very little while, the Coming One will come and not delay." We know that this is talking about the Second Coming of Christ. What a glorious day that will be! But our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ is not only coming again to take us to Heaven, but He is the Coming One in the present te
According to "Open Doors," who reach out to persecuted Christians worldwide, "The year 2014 will go down in history for having the highest level of global persecution of Christians in the modern era." They expect that the
Yesterday's post was about how easy it is to be distracted. In order to counteract this we must get into the habit of becoming disciplined and focused. How can we FOCUS? I'll share an acrostic with you, and as I do, I'll point
Mankind has always faced distractions because distractions are mainly in our heart and mind. However, I am sure we would admit that there has never been a time when there is so much around us to distract our minds and attention. This electronic age is a temptation to us and to our children. I notice young people who can hardly focus on looking you in the eye and talking to
Yesterday we talked about being VALIANT for the truth. Actually, I have found 31 ways God wants us to respond to the truth. There are 31 days in the month so you can take one for every day of the month. Print it out and pin it up on your wall to inspire your whole family. Take hold of one each day and apply it to your lives:
One of the Scriptures in our Bible reading at Family Devotions this morning was Jeremiah 9:3 (if you use THE DAILY LIGHT as we do, you would have read the same Scripture). It talks about being VALIANT for the truth. We
Does everything seem to be going wrong? Take heart. It won't ever be perfect, but as you continue to be faithful to your daily mothering (during the hard times and the good times), there will come a day when you will look back and see the beautiful song God has created in your family.
In Titus 1:1 Paul shares that he is a servant of God according to the "acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness." The word "acknowledging" means far more than having a knowledge of the truth. It speaks of truth that powerfully influences our day-to-day lives. That's what we want, isn't it?
"I'm a servant of the King of kings." I'm sure each one of us want this testimony. It sounds important, doesn't it? Paul addressed himself as "Paul, a servant of God" (Titus 1:1). But what does this word "servant" actually mean? The word is "doulos" and means "a bond slave, one who is in a permanent relation of servitude to another, one whose will is altogether consumed in the will of
Monique Levesque-Strachan shared this lovely testimony with me about their New Year's Eve gathering. I'm looking forward to lots of great feedback:
Dear Mother,
Do you remember reading about Asaph in the Bible? He was in charge of the music and was the lead worship singer and cymbalist in the reigns of David and Solomon. Heman and Jeduthun and all their families were also in
I have never been one to make New Year's resolutions. I just keep plodding on from one year to the next. I know my purpose and it doesn't change from year to year. Of course, it often changes in the way I implement it, but th
It's easy to get lazy about teaching our children God's words, isn't it? Life becomes so full and busy that it goes by the wayside. Some parents are quite content to make sure their children go to Sunday school once a week,
