EPISODE 411: WELCOME TO THE LAND OF MORE AND MORE, Part 17
What is happening in the land of Israel proves that God's word is true and infallible. Scriptures written thousands of years ago are now being fulfilled before our very eyes. The desert land is blossoming like the rose. It is flourishing even in the desert. It is the proof that God is alive and His Word is true and cannot be reversed.
Announcer: Welcome to the podcast, Life to the Full, with Nancy Campbell, founder and publisher of Above Rubies, a magazine bringing strength and encouragement to families across the world.
Nancy Campbell: Hello, ladies! Today we are continuing our point about the receiving of the natural branches, because there’s more to share on this beautiful subject. The natural branches, of course, are talking about Israel.
I began talking about the covenants to Israel last session. We only got through the first covenant, the ABRAHAMIC COVENANT. We have three more to go. But before I get onto those, I would love to share with you some of the wonderful Scriptures and promises that are given to Israel. I do believe we should be familiar with them. If we’re not familiar with them, we will be filled with all this other junk that we hear around about Israel.
Now, first of all, perhaps we could go to Exodus. This is where God is speaking to Moses about coming back to the people who are in bondage in Egypt. He’s going to bring them out of Egypt. He says to Moses in Exodus 6:3: “And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by My name JEHOVAH was I not known to them. And I have also established My covenant with them.”
Remember, we talked about the covenant, this cutting of the covenant that God did, well, not really with Abraham, because He did it on His own. It is an irrevocable, unconditional covenant that God made with His people. He took it on His own oath to keep this covenant regarding the land.
“I have established my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers. And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered My covenant.
“Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched-out arm, and with great judgments: And I will take you to Me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning the which I did swear to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for an heritage: I am the LORD.”
And, of course, we know the glorious, amazing, miraculous story of how God brought them out of Egypt with His mighty right arm. He brought them into the Promised Land after 40 years in the wilderness. And there they were established in the land. But we also know the story of how, eventually their sin became so great and they began to live like the people whom they had thrust out of the land in the beginning. And God had to vomit them out of the land.
But He is a God of covenant, and a God of oaths, and He will never, ever lie. Therefore, we read in the prophets all of the promises, of how God said, “I will bring you back, even though you are dispersed to all the countries of the world. I will bring you back to your own land.”
I want to read you some of these promises, because they’re so amazing. They fill me with great joy. I hope they do to you too because they give you an understanding of what our God is like, and how He is a faithful God, a covenant-keeping God.
Isaiah 14:1-2: “For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in THEIR OWN LAND. . . and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD.” You notice two descriptions here: “their own land,” and “the land of the Lord.” It belongs to God.
Isaiah 60:21: “Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of My planting, the work of My hands, that I may be glorified.”
THE SCRIPTURES ARE BEING FULFILLED TODAY
Isaiah 61:5: “And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.” That’s a wonderful promise. And, ladies, I have actually experienced that promise. A few years back, when I was in Israel again, I was blessed to go out to the West Bank, the disputed territories, although that’s not what we should call that area of Israel.
Although it is disputed by so many nations, it is actually the HEARTLAND of Israel. It’s where the children of Israel first came into the land when Joshua led them in. It is the very heartland, called Judea and Samaria. When they came into the land, the tabernacle which they had carried through the wilderness for forty years, they then established it there, right in the heartland in a place called “Shiloh.” The tabernacle was right there in Shiloh for 369 years. Most commentators say 369 years. There it was.
I have been to the very site of Shiloh and stood where the tabernacle once stood, right in the heart of Israel. And also, I had the privilege of going out to harvest the vines and to pick the grapes on the hillside out there, really, in the barren desert.
It was an amazing thing to see. You would see glorious hillsides with vineyards growing. Then you’d look just beside them and there was another hillside. It would be barren. And the whole of the land out there is just desert, barren stones. But when they plant in these stones, things grow! It is absolutely miraculous! I just felt like I was standing on miracles. So amazing!
In fact, you go to Ezekiel 36. Oh, I do love this chapter. I would encourage you to read it right through. Sometime when you have a little moment, read this chapter through. It’s a prophetic word of promises to Israel. But in this chapter, it is prophesying, not to people, no, but to the land. And here in verse 4, it says: “Therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes, and to the cities that are forsaken.”
And it goes on and on about this. Down in verse 8, continuing again: “But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to My people of Israel; for they are at hand to come.” And there, the Lord is prophesying to the land as He brings His people back to the land. And He says, when they come back, the Scripture says: “For they are about to come.” When they come back, this ground, this barren, stony ground will bring forth fruit for My people.
And there I was, just being part of a miracle, just seeing these prolific vineyards growing out of these stones, and picking these huge bunches of grapes. And now, I mean, there was a time when the vines of Italy and France produced the most wonderful wine in the world. But they grew those vines from Israel, because back in AD 70, when Titus conquered Jerusalem, he took back those vines to grow. They were blessed. But now, Israel is growing her own vines again. They’re growing some of the most beautiful wines in the world from these grapes. It is so literally amazing.
And then, what does it say? “And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.” And so, it wasn’t just me. I just went out for a few days. But there are people who go out every year, every harvest time. Young people, families from all over the world, go to this organization, Ha Yovel, with the Waller family, who bring them all in. They harvest the grapes all over this area.
Of course, there are more and more growing now. They bring in hundreds of people, and they do it for free, to bless the settlers out there in the heartland. And what are they doing? Fulfilling Bible prophecy, because they’re not Jews. They’re gentiles. They’re strangers, aliens. And they’re coming, and being the vinedressers for God’s people. They’re literally fulfilling what God said in His Word so long ago.
This is an amazing thing. Israel is the proof that God is alive. His Word is true, because these prophecies are coming to pass. This desert land, which when they first began to come back to the land many years ago. It was just malarial swamps. It was nothing, and many paid the price of their own lives as they started to try and reclaim this land again. But now, it is blossoming like the rose, as the Bible says.
Isaiah 27:6: “He shall cause them that come of Jacob” (all those who are coming back to the land) to take root: Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit.”
And this is already happening, ladies. Did you know that Israel exports 1.56 million tons of fruit? That was the statistic for 2024, 1.56 million tons of fruit around the world, because this desert is blossoming like the rose. The vegetables and fruit, as they export them, were 401.66 million US dollars annually. So, that’s what’s happening in Israel.
And what about the real desert down in the Negev? That’s even coming to life. And they’re growing flowers there with irrigation. They are now annually exporting millions of flowers from the Negev desert! It’s just totally amazing.
Isaiah 35:1: “The desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.” These words are being fulfilled right now.
In fact, if you've got strong young men or young ladies in your family, the most wonderful thing they can do is go out to Israel and be part of harvesting grapes, and picking the olives, and being the vinedressers there in the heartland of Israel. They’re fulfilling Bible prophecy. It’s amazing.
Amos 9:13: “The mountains shall drop sweet wine” and this is what they’re doing today. How can people say that Israel has no future? Israel is fulfilling Bible prophecy right now! And I’ve experienced it myself, being right there. You cannot experience this without realizing the power of the Word of God. It is life-giving.
Well, let’s look at a few more wonderful Scriptures.
Jeremiah 30:3: “For, lo, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will bring again the captivity of My people Israel and Judah, saith the LORD: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.”
Jeremiah 31:16-17: “And they shall come again from the land of the enemy. And there is hope in thine end, saith the LORD, that thy children shall come again to their own border.”
Jeremiah 33:7: “And I will cause the captivity of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return, and will build them, as at the first.”
Oh, listen to these wonderful Scriptures:
Jeremiah 31:35-37: “Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar. The Lord of Hosts is His Name.
“If these ordinances depart from before me, saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before Me forever. Thus saith the Lord, if heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the Lord.”
Now, these Scriptures are repeated again in Jeremiah 33:19-26. And therefore, we have to ask some questions.
Ok, has the sun stopped shining each new day? Well, no, every day we get up to a new day, the sun giving us light.
Have the moon and the stars disappeared yet? No, every night, if it’s a clear night, we can look up and see the moon, the full moon, or the new moon. And we see all the beautiful stars. Out here in the country we can see them so wonderfully.
Can you measure the heavens above? No.
Can you search out the foundations of the earth? No.
Therefore, we know God has not finished with Israel. Every one of His promises will come to pass and Israel is still a nation before Him. He said: “While these things are in place.” Therefore, we’re not able to even measure the heavens. No! And so, Israel is still a nation before God. And what does it say here? “Then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before Me forever,” only when these things are no longer in existence.
It’s so amazing, you know. Even the great miracle of Israel becoming a nation. Do you know that Scripture in Isaiah 66:8, which says: “Who has ever heard of such a thing? Who has ever seen this? Can a country be brought forth in one day? Can a nation be born in a single moment?”
Yes, that happened when Israel became a nation which was a miracle. It looked absolutely impossible, but right at last, it passed, and it became a nation on the 14th of May 1948. It was a miracle.
And there was a nation for people who did not have a nation, did not even have a country. They were just living in other countries. Where this has happened to other people, they have just been lost. But no. Israel was not lost, because God’s eye was upon them, and He said He would bring them back. Of course, He had to have a nation to bring them back. So, it was all part of God’s plan. Oh, so many miracles.
I remember reading that book, The Tongue of the Prophet, by Robert St. John. This book is about Eliazer Ben Yehuda who God raised up sovereignly, miraculously, to bring the Hebrew language back. In fact, they didn’t have a modern Hebrew language. It was just a language mostly forgotten and not spoken but only used by the prophets and the rabbis perhaps. But it wasn’t a spoken language any longer.
All the Jews and Israelites around the world were speaking the languages of the countries in which they lived. But Ben Yehuda had a vision for a nation, and he knew that when God would bring His people back, they would have to have one language. And so, through incredible suffering and persecution, he miraculously put together this language. It was Hebrew, but he had to find so many new words so it could be a spoken language.
And that language was ready when the people began to come back to the land. So, as they came back, speaking all their different languages, oh goodness me! How would they have survived? How could they even communicate? But there was this Hebrew language. And, as each person came back, they’d go through a time when they would learn the Hebrew language so they could all communicate as one. That was a miracle. God did that. God prepared the way for His people coming back. Everything was so miraculous.
I’d love you to get that book, although I did check it out today. I looked it up, and there it was, $90! There was another one, $80. Goodness me! It looks as though this book is very hard to get. I don’t even own one myself now although it was one of the greatest books that I ever read.
I did read another one too. I can’t remember which title, but there are a few other titles. Eliazer Ben Yehuda, The Revival of Modern Hebrew; The Fulfillment of Prophecy, Eliazer Ben Yehuda; Eliazer Ben Yehuda, the Father of Modern Hebrew. I think that was the one I read. But get one of those books, to read this miraculous story. It’s so amazing.
OK. Jeremiah 32:41: “Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.” Do you hear those words? This Scripture reveals the heart of God, His heart for His people, who are the apple of His eye.
Well, you think, “How could you ever say that? Look at Israel. I mean, there’s so much sin in Israel. There are transgenders. There’s homosexuality. There’s abortion.” Yes, just the same as here in America. Yes, we understand that. But God hasn’t finished yet. He is bringing them back. He still has so many to bring back.
He wants them back in the land so that then He can reveal Himself to them. They have to be back in the land before God can come and reveal Himself to them. And so, at this stage, yes, they have not yet come into that olive tree, to their original olive tree. They are blinded, but that day is coming. So, just as God has not given up on Israel, we do not give on Israel either.
And that is very interesting. Let me read this Scripture, Ezekiel 11:17: “Thus saith the Lord God, I will even gather you from the people and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered. And I will give you the land of Israel.”
Now think about this Scripture for a little bit. There are people who believe in replacement theology that say, “Oh, but, the children of Israel, the Jews, they came back to the land after being in Babylon.” Because when God sent the Jews out of Israel for their sins, and they were taken to Babylon, they were captives in Babylon. God said through the prophet that they would be there for 70 years. But then, God would bring them back again.
That’s exactly what happened. God raised up a heathen king, King Cyrus, king of the four corners of the earth, an amazing king. He was a heathen king, but God chose him because he had this most amazing personality. I read the life story of King Cyrus. It’s called “Cyropaedia” by Xenophon. It is an amazing book. I couldn’t believe it.
I was reading about King Cyrus and what he was like. He was so generous. Even as a child, he was always wanting to give gifts. He had this amazing love for people and wanted to bless them. Then, as he became a great general, he was so kind to his soldiers. When some soldier did something that was good, he would bring them all together, and he would get up and tell them about this soldier. And he’d give him gifts.
And then, as he began to conquer the countries, the people wanted him to conquer them, because he was so kind to them. God had to raise up someone like this who would be prepared to let His people go. In fact, his name, Cyrus, was prophesied 100 years in the Bible, Isaiah 47, before he was even born. And he was a heathen king.
God used him to say, “OK, I’ve got these people from Israel here. I’m going to send them back to their land.” And not only that, everything that King Nebuchadnezzar had taken, he gave it back. “Take it home with you. And I will give you money to build your temple.” It was miraculous. It was God Who set that all up.
But that was only from Babylon. And it wasn’t even all of them, because not all the Jews came back at that time. A good part of them did, but not all, unfortunately. I think some had just got too settled there. So, it was only from Babylon.
But do you see the Scripture? “Thus saith the Lord God, I will even gather you from the people and assemble you out of the countries (plural) where ye have been scattered.” They were scattered to the four corners of the earth, both Israel and Judah. And, of course, this happened too, in AD 70, when they had to flee because of Jerusalem being taken.
These prophetic words are not just for that little time in Babylon. These are for those who were scattered around the world. But He is bringing them back. And where is He bringing them back to? It says right here: Israel. Israel. But there wasn’t an Israel. It had gone. It had finished. There was just . . . OK, they called it “Palestine.” But God got a nation ready and it was called “Israel.”
That was even miraculous, because they didn’t really know what they were going to call it, right up until the very end. It was the last minute that they actually decided on “Israel” to be the name, the State of Israel. They had a few other names.
Some thought of calling it “Judea.” Of course, that refers to the kingdom of Judah.
Some thought of calling it “Zion,” because that’s a biblical term for Jerusalem. That would have been a nice name. But it wasn’t the name God wanted.
Some thought of “Jeshurun.” That actually comes from a Scripture, Deuteronomy 33:26: “There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in His excellency on the sky.” It’s speaking actually of God who comes to the help of Israel, because “Jeshurun” is another name for Israel. But they didn’t call it that.
“Carmelia,” that means “the vineyard of God.” They didn’t call it that.
Ben Gurion, who was the first prime minister of Israel who brought forth the state of Israel, at the last minute, it was decided. But it was the name that God wanted, “Israel.” That’s the name that God wanted for His land.
And we know where it comes from. The very first time we read of Israel is in Genesis, back in the first book of the Bible. Israel starts in the first book of the Bible. And dear precious ladies, it ends in the last book of the Bible. And in Jerusalem, the twelve gates of Jerusalem, will be named after the twelve tribes of Israel. From beginning to end/ But the beginning verse says, in Genesis 32:29: “And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.”
And so, here we read in this Scripture, even before they started coming back, He said: “I will give you the land of Israel.” It was already prepared for them to come back, and it was already named “Israel.” God was in it all, and, you know, when I read this verse again, this one about . . . it’s one of my favorite Scriptures because, to me, I can feel God’s heart when He says: “I will plant them in this land assuredly, with my whole soul, and with my whole heart.” It’s in God’s heart, and He even puts in the hearts of His people.
I remember years ago when we were living in Australia, we were out in the rainforest going for a walk. We lived on the Gold Coast of Australia, and we’d often go up to Binna Burra and walk in the rainforest. Such beautiful walks. One time we met this couple, and they said, “Oh, do you know where we are? We said, “Well, where are you going?” And we found they were going the opposite way. They were totally lost and going the wrong way. So, we set them on the right way, and as we all walked back together, we became friends.
And actually, they were a Jewish couple. He was a Russian Jew, and she was an Iranian Jew. They had both made aliyah to Israel and got married there. He was in Australia as a scientist. We spent many, many lovely times with this couple. Colin spent hours sharing the gospel with them. We even went to their home in Jerusalem when we were visiting one time.
But Avigdor, that’s the husband, he said to us, and I’ll never forget it. He said, “You know, as I was growing up in Russia, I never felt that I was home. I always knew there was another land that I was meant to be in.” And at that time, he never knew anything about Israel. He’d never heard of it. Israel had not even become a nation. He didn’t know that there was such a land, even. But it was there in him.
And as he got older, and eventually found out, oh yes, this land has now become the nation, the State of Israel. He was wooed to go back. God woos His people. It’s the wooing of God.
Now, folks, who believe in replacement theology, if they had taken these Scriptures . . . I don’t even know how they can relate to them, but these Scriptures, and I only just giving you a little few of them, they’d better be packing up their bags and going back to Israel, because this is what God has prophesied, and what is actually happening.
Another thing we see, too, of how it’s so much in those who are Jews. Every single Passover, every end of Passover, what does every Jewish person say? They all say it together, L’shanah haba’ah bi’Yerushalayim. And what does it mean? “Next year in Jerusalem!” That is their hope for every Jewish person. “Next year in Jerusalem!”
And how long have they been saying it? They have been saying it since the 12th century. And also, the concluding service of Yom Kippur, they say these words, “Next year in Jerusalem,” for that is their hope and where they know that they belong.
Oh yes, the latest news, this has just come out of Israel. I’ve just caught up with this. Since the start of the Iran war, more than 130 North American Jews have arrived in Israel, with about 500 American Jews making aliyah in 2026 already, with an additional 110 expected in May. Wow, it’s May now, so they are coming this month!
Globally, new immigration has surged. Over 53,700 new immigrants have arrived in Israel since October 2023. That’s October 7, 2023, when Hamas did this incredible, terrible massacre in Israel. And they have arrived from Russia, Europe, North and South America, Africa, and Asia. The Jewish Agency for Israel reports helping over 32,000 Jews in 2024 and aims to bring 300,000 Jews home over the next five years.
This is what is happening. This is prophetic. This is the answer to these Scriptures I am reading to you, and God is doing it now. Tell your children these Scriptures, dear mothers! These Scriptures prove the validity of God’s Word! Because it’s happening now! This month, coming more and more and more. I mean, we dare not be ignorant of these things. This is all God’s doing. And I believe our children should know this. They should be excited about the fulfillment of Bible prophecy. And, of course, so much yet to be fulfilled.
All right. I think our time is going, but maybe just one, just at the end here.
Ezekiel 28:26: “And they shall dwell safely therein, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards; yea, they shall dwell with confidence, when I have executed judgments upon all those that despise them round about them; and they shall know that I am the LORD their God.”
Ezekiel 34:11-15: “And I will bring them out from the people, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to THEIR OWN LAND, and feed them upon the mountains of Israel by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country. I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie in a good fold, and in a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel.”
Oh, precious ladies, maybe I’ve got to share with you just a little more next time, because this is such an incredible subject. It’s so current. It’s what is happening now, what we must know. And it’s what God says. It’s what is in His heart. Amen?
“Dear Father, heavenly Father, holy Father, we thank You for Your Word again, that shows Your heart, that reveals Your truth, that shows us what is yet to come. Lord, we don’t understand everything, and we don’t even know how You are going to work everything out, but, Lord, we believe Your Word. We trust Your promises, and we thank You, Lord God. In the Name of Jesus, amen.”
