THERE’S A LIGHT IN EACH PERSON

LigfhtPersonEach new baby is born with the stamp of God upon them.

John 1:9 describes Jesus, who was God, being the true Light, “which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.” Each person has an awareness of God for they are created in the “image and likeness” of God. They have a conscience. They have a knowingness of God.

Gerhard Eberling writes of “a spark of the Eternal implanted in the first human person and in all subsequent human progeny.”

This is the great blessing of children being born into a godly home. Godly parents will fan this flame. As you teach your children the ways of God and His Word the light increases. More understanding and revelation of God fills their lives.

That’s why children who are daily fed God’s Word can come to know Christ at an early age. They can be born again into God’s family while they are young. Paul said to Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:15: “From a child thou hast known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.” Young children can receive Christ into their lives at three and four years of age.

Most of our children came to Christ at four years of age. They are in their fifties today and have never deviated from walking with God.

In an ungodly home where Jesus is never mentioned and His Word is never opened, this light can be dimmed and squelched. If it is an atheistic home, it may have a lot of water thrown on it. But the spark is always there. No human is exempt. Therefore, no matter how degraded the person, we can continue to witness to them of the truth of the gospel. The spark of light is waiting to be lit.

As parents, we keep fueling the light that God has put in our children. We want them to shine brightly. And we keep brining the gospel to children and adults who have no one to fan their flame.

When our children were small, we lived near a school. I used to have a Joy Time Club once a week and gather in children after school. I was able to share the gospel and teach God’s Word to up to 40 children each week.

Let’s keep lighting the flame.

AN UNMISTAKABLE SCENT

UnmistakableWhat kind of aromas fill your home? Sweet or bad smells? The flesh gives off sour, bitter, grumpy, and horrible smells, doesn't it? They make everyone in the home feel bad and want to run! But Christ in us is a sweet-smelling savor, and He wants us to exude His sweet aroma throughout the home. Most husbands love fragrant perfumes (well, my husband does), but more than perfumes, we should constantly wear the perfume of Christ in our lives.

II Corinthians 2:14 (J. B. Phillip's translation) always challenges me: "We should have about us the unmistakable scent of Christ." What’s the fragrance in your home? Are your husband and children avoiding you or running to you?

(II Corinthians 2:14 (HCSB) says: “But thanks be to God, who always puts us on display in Christ and through us spreads the aroma of the knowledge of Him in EVERY PLACE.” God wants us to be a “sweet” aroma in “EVERY PLACE.”

Every place includes our home! It means in the midst of what we are doing--when children are making us crazy, when our husband is rubbing us the wrong way, and when we are doing the mundane chores like changing dirty diapers!

Keep sweet.

DO YOU WANT SUCCESS FOR YOUR CHILDREN?

WantSuccessThe next question we need to ask is: “what are you teaching your children? It's easy to get into the mode of packing information into your children's brains, the more the better! But "information" is not education. "Right thinking" is education. Unless your children know how to think correctly, information won't do them a lot of good.

Right thinking comes from God's Word—even though it is often contrary to how society thinks and what is taught in the public education system. Isaiah 55:8, 9 says: "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."

To truly educate your children, you must give them the right foundation, which is GOD-THINKING, not humanistic thinking!

Are your children more accustomed to the thinking of our humanist, socialist society, or are they more familiar with God’s living and eternal words? Sadly, I find that most children and teens, even from homeschooling families, know very little of God’s Word. They don’t even know familiar Scriptures.

Your greatest teaching is what God thinks. Therefore, dear mother, what are you doing about it?

P.S. Read these Scriptures again: Deuteronomy 6:5-9; 11:18-23; Joshua 1:8; Psalm 1:1-4; 119:97-99, 148; Isaiah 59:21; Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 4:12; 1 Peter 3:15; and 2 Peter 1:4.

YOUR CEDAR MARRIAGE (last points today).

CedarsDecayd) CEDARS RESIST DECAY AND REPEL PESTS
This is another wonderful feature of the cedar. Perhaps you are having a self-pity trip and dreaming that you deserve someone better than your husband. Resist this evil thought in the name of Jesus! Perhaps you think you could do better on your own. Repel this deceiving thought in Jesus name! Resist all resentment and negative thoughts about your marriage. Because the devil hates marriage, he roams about seeking to devour your unon. Don’t be deceived by his seducing temptations.

A true marriage resists all evil. Hebrews 13:4 (NET) says: “Marriage must be honored among all and the marriage bed kept undefiled.” Refuse all flirtations with other men. Refuse all kinky sex. Keep the marriage bed pure and holy.

e) CEDARS ARE FRAGRANT
The cedar exudes a gum which gives off fragrance. Does your marriage exude fragrance like the cedar? I love the quote of John Piper: “There has never been a generation whose view of marriage is high enough.” Our marriages are sacred. Their purpose is to reveal the relationship of Christ and the church—of Christ who laid down His life for the church and the bride who submits to His Lordship. This is a “glorious” thing (Ephesians 5:27).

Can we allow God to work in us to make our marriages a glorious testimony to our families and to all around us?

Be blessed,

Nancy Campbell

BRIGHTEN THE CORNER WHERE YOU ARE

BRightenCornerBright, positive, optimistic men make the best husbands and fathers. A gloomy, pessimistic person who cannot see the bright side of life is very difficult to live with. Who wants to hang around a person who is always down in the mouth, depressed, and negative about everything? I for one would not like to live a single day around such a person, let alone be married to one.

The children of Israel, having left the great oppression and “doom and gloom” of the slavery of Egypt, could not shake the negative mindset. It had become so ingrained into them over the years of their slavery. They were freed from their physical slave shackles, but were still mentally, emotionally, and spiritually slaves to fear and unbelief. All this negativity and unbelief eventually stopped them from entering into the Promised Land.

God did not want this complaining spirit to enter the Promised Land. This attitude of negativity would never enable them to bring down the giants that inhabited Canaan. The strongholds of Canaan could only be defeated by a people with an optimistic belief that with God nothing is impossible.

Proverbs 15:13, 15: “A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken. . . . All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.”

The Passion Translation says: “A cheerful heart puts a smile on your face . . . When you CHOOSE TO BE CHEERFUL, every day will bring you more and more joy and fullness.”

It’s your choice.

Be encouraged.

GOOD MORNING, MRS. RIGHTEOUS

RighteousnessGod“I beg your pardon. Are you talking to me?” That’s not me. I’m for ever failing and getting angry with the children.” Yes, I understand. The Bible says: “There is none that doeth good, no, not one” (Psalm 14:3 and Romans 3:10). True!

“Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me” (Psalm 51:5). True!

“All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). True.

However, when Jesus died upon the cross for our sins, He died to not only save us from our sins, but to make us righteous! Yes, that is His purpose. He not only died for our sins, but lives in our hearts by faith. When Jesus Christ comes into our lives, He comes in the fullness of who He is. And who is Christ? “Jesus Christ the righteous” (1 John 2:1).

The blessing of salvation is Christ in you and you in Christ. And because He is in you, He is righteousness in you. You have to get hold of this truth. You have no righteousness of your own, but you are righteous because of the righteous life of Jesus Christ who dwells in you.

1 Corinthians 1:30 says: “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.” Read also 2 Corinthians 5:21.

Therefore, in your home, in your kitchen, caring for your children, and managing your home, you are Mrs. Righteous.
Righteous Emma--Yes!
Righteous Rachel--Yes!
Righteous Jennifer--Yes!

As you embrace this truth and confess your righteousness in Christ, you will live in the truth. You can’t confess that you are living in the righteousness of Christ and at the same time fly off the handle!

Be blessed today,

Mrs Righteous.

Love from Nancy

RUTH ENTERS THE LINEAGE OF THE MESSIAH

DesertedHimJohn 6:66-69: “From that time many of HIS DISCIPLES WENT BACK, AND WALKED NO MORE WITH HIM. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Ruth 1:14-17: “Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth cleaved unto her. And she said, behold, thy sister in law is GONE BACK UNTO HER PEOPLE, AND UNTO HER GODS: return thou after thy sister in law. And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.”

Orpah is the type of the apostate church who kiss Christ and yet go back to the gods of this world.

Ruth, through her declaration, becomes the type of the true church who become worthy to be married to the heavenly Kinsman Redeemer, Jesus Christ. These are the ones who are the true overcomers who “Follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth” (Revelation 14:4).

Through her 100 percent sell out to Naomi and consequently the God of Israel, Ruth, the Moabite Gentile woman becomes the great-grandmother of David, the greatest prophetic King of Israel, through whom the Messiah was prophesied to come and then came into this world. What a great reward for Ruth. Amazing.

Be encouraged.

SAVE IT OUR LOSE IT

SaveLoseItI love the line from the delightful children’s book by George MacDonald, “At the Back of the North Wind.” He says, “For our Selves will always do pretty well If we don’t pay them too much attention.” How true are these words. It is the same principle Jesus gave us in Mark 8:35: “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it.”

When we focus on ourselves--our own problems, sicknesses, and how to make ourselves happy we end up self-serving which pulls us down into the slough of self-pity and delusion. It is an eternal principle that when you forget about yourself and pour out your life for others you become fulfilled. You are happier and more relaxed, peaceful, hopeful, and content.

“But what about me? you cry. Of course we have to care for ourselves spiritually, mentally, and physically. That’s basic. But we don’t tune all our thinking on ourselves. I’ll never forgot a moment in my life years ago. My children were all little and I had just come home from purchasing the groceries. As I walked over the threshold of my home, I felt the voice of the Holy Spirit speaking strongly to my heart, “Nancy, how can I reveal to you the needs of others if you are always thinking of yourself?” I have never forgotten those words. From then on I learned to give much more room in my mind and heart for others.

Will we be forgotten when we pour out our lives for others? No, the opposite. God makes sure that our “self” as George MacDonald puts it, will be blessed and comforted. God pours into those who pour out.

Mothering is a liberating ministry into this eternal principle. Not on the odd occasion, but 24/7 we forget self as we pour out our hearts for our children--praying for them, teaching them, training them, caring for them, cooking for them, and often agonizing over them.

Let’s embrace this eternal principle and live in the fullness of the joy and life God intends for us. We teach our children how to be joyful; we need to adhere to it ourselves.

J Jesus first
O Others second
Y Yourself last

Be blessed,

Nancy Campbell
