Kristin wrote this poem after a long day of chasing her toddler. She says: “I'm not able to get much done during the day with a toddler and preschooler around the house, but I try to remind myself that this season will soon be past.”
A TODDLER’S HANDS
Busy hands throughout the day,
Pulling, grabbing, while you play.
Exploring hands that spill and break,
Beginning from the time you wake.
Active hands that like to throw,
Little hands that’re sure to grow.
Tugging hands there at my skirt,
Reaching hands for love when hurt.
Tired hands in blankets tight,
Quiet hands throughout the night.
Waking hands that tie my feet,
They slow me down--my goals defeat.
But though your hands sure wear me out,
I wouldn’t want to do without.
