A HUMBLE WORD TO HUSBANDS FROM AN OLDER WIFE . . .

HumbleWordThis is shared for husbands from an older married Christian's woman's point of view to make tough spousal moments smoother. We have observed through the years that there are two common misunderstandings among married men:
ONE: submission: whose responsibility is it?
TWO: a husband's use of a specific Scripture to correct his wife.

Submission:

It is interesting to note that the concept of submission (as commonly cited in Ephesians 5:22-24 is not directed to the husband but to the wife. When a man takes this to mean that the Bible is telling him to get his wife to submit to him, the result of that misunderstanding is that he attempts to force submission upon his wife and she (since she is a "responsive being") begins to act stridently.

The underlying reason is generally that she feels misunderstood and/or treated poorly and/or hurt, and the only way she can handle that in a “marital siege” is to grow more rigid. Seeing this concept of submission as the husband's responsibility (to enforce the behavior) produces a tyrannical husband and a resistant wife.

Submission is a continual godly choice a godly woman makes as she grows in spiritual maturity and as she sees the glorious fruit of it over the years issuing in far more peace in the home. For sure, a discussion of submission is entirely appropriate between the two spouses—at peaceful moments between you, never in the heat of the moment when emotions are already out of control and the fierce fleshly desire in both parties to win is "up front and central."

We must remember that we want the "marriage" to win, not for the man or the woman to win only as a "victory" for themselves.

When such moments occur (and they will, in every marriage), do whatever you can to diffuse it—to move past it. Get through it in any way you can. Lay your life down in servanthood and love at those moments and the result of your godlier attitude at that time will work upon her later in the day or night as she contemplates the scene you two have just been through.

In peace and in love a couple can talk through the troublesome dynamic they experienced earlier and can re-think a better way for each of them to have worked through that. These later discussions are invaluable for mapping out new behaviors for future "moments."

Misuse of a specific Scripture upon a wife:

Scripture lies upon a page of the Word inviting us to partake of it like a banquet as we mature and as we grow in hunger for God's ways. It is not to be used as a weapon. If someone uses a specific Scripture at a moment of spousal upheaval to declare “you must do this or that,” it becomes a tool of carving on each other, to make them into our image. It becomes a searing spotlight over a victim. We were never given to each other in marriage to remake each other but to love each other in all our unevenness and flesh. To use a specific Scripture upon a spouse is too scalding. It will not have the desired effect. It will have the effect of triumph for the husband (I have Scripture on my side!) and increased anger for the woman (who feels that he is not seeing the core issue here).

Therefore, husbands . . . trust the Lord, alone, to use His Word in sanctifying your wife. He can do it, via individual devotions and also through regular family devotions (not cherry picked to aim at the wife). Refrain from using a particular verse to point it at her like a laser weapon in the midst of conflict. Instead, turn your own heart to developing unconditional love for your wife. Conduct yourself with kindness and steady patience at all times, but especially in the heat of "battle," and she will grow to trust you and more easily don a submissive attitude toward you.

Result?

God—not we, makes the one flesh unity in a marriage happen. Over time you will see that you have influenced each other greatly but at no time is that seen baldly and overtly as a result of something one person attempted to force upon the other.

THINK OF THE POSSIBILITY!

"Think of the possibility of raising a multitude of men and women whose bodies have never been poisoned by vicious indulgences, whose minds have been enlightened and filled with the principles of divine truth from their infancy, and whose hearts, from their earliest days, have been inspired with the love of Christ and possessed with the one supreme ambition to GLORIFY THE FATHER, DETHRONE THE DEVIL, DESTROY SIN, AND SAVE THE WORLD!"

TRUTH HURTS SOMETIMES

PeachFamThe following is a message from a dear friend of mine, Chris Peach, from Norfolk, England. We look forward to fellowshipping together each time we go to England.

“TRUTH hurts sometimes. But it is better to face TRUTH now and honestly than to later realize that you have lived a lie!

Couples these days are waiting till they are "financially secure" before they have children. It makes sense and sounds reasonable, doesn't it? I wonder how financially secure Mary and Joseph were and how stable their situation was before they had Jesus.

They didn't have a horse or camel; they had a donkey.
They didn't have a chariot; they went on foot.
They didn't have the Ritz Hotel, swimming pool, and Spa, they had a stable.

It's interesting to me that God has always chosen to reward faith over common sense. Think about that one thought for a while. We couldn't afford our first child, let alone our seventh! Common sense would have kept us waiting forever (like many today) before we were financially stable. But with each child God blessed us. I cannot say it is easy, but I can say it is worthwhile!

God created family. It was His idea. And he said, “Go and multiply and fill the Earth!” The Earth isn't FULL yet and God hasn't changed His mind. If God can provide manna in a desert every day and double on a Friday so they didn't have to work on Saturday for nearly three million people in a desert, then God can provide for us!

Do you think they stopped having children as they wandered in that desert for 40 years? Do you think they used contraceptives or aborted their children because they hadn't got a house or a stable job? No! read the Bible. They multiplied in the desert just as they multiplied in Egypt under the servitude and chains of Pharaoh!

We are called to live lives of faith and trust in God and sometimes that doesn't make earthly sense. That is why it's called a walk of FAITH, not FACT! We honor God most when we take Him at His Word.

Psalm 127:3-5 (ESV): “Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them!”

A HERITAGE FROM THE LORD!
A FRUIT AND A REWARD!
ARROWS IN THE HAND OF A WARRIOR!
THE CHILDREN OF ONES YOUTH ARE A BLESSING!
This is what GOD says about having children!

Don't allow fear to control you, the walk of faith is not an easy way, but God will make a way! Our God a way maker! A maverick! A SUPERNATURAL HERO! And if our God is for us, who can stand against us!

Go and live lives of faithful obedience to our Lord God—have children, multiply, fill your quiver to the full, overflow with the little blessings from God. The barren womb has always been seen as a curse until the lie came and Satan whispers in a woman's ear, “You can eat of the fruit, and you shall not die.” Eat she did and began to die. The tree men and women still eat from is the tree of knowledge of good and evil. I suggest that it's the tree of "common sense." The Devil always makes sense. He appeals to our reason and logic in his own manipulation. It's reasonable to use contraception, wait until you’re older, wiser, financially stable, etc. No!

Don't trust that liar! Trust God with your fertility and the timing of your children. Have faith that He will make streams in the desert! God will make a way! GOD WILL MAKE A WAY!

Satan has always killed the children, in the womb and out of it, in Egypt and in the Promised land.

Children are God’s blessings!

God bless you dads who go out to work and seek provision for the family you love. God bless you men and women of FAITH, COURAGE, AND STRENGTH IN THE FACE OF DARKNESS! Your witness and testimony are your faith and obedience to Scripture. And what a witness it is!

God's way works, Satan tempts us to do things his way—sex before marriage, children outside of wedlock, etc., but Satan only seeks to kill steal and destroy.

We need to get back to faithful obedience to God, His Word, and His Spirit.

God bless you all!”

DO YOU WANT THE BEST MARRIAGE?

WantBestMarriageThe following are tips from husbands with great marriages:

Cherish her!

Tell her EVERY DAY that you love her.

Call her from work for no special reason, just to let her know that you are thinking of her.

Show an interest in what she is wearing. Tell her she looks beautiful.

If she has tried to please you, show your appreciation.

Say “Thank you” and show appreciation for every meal she cooks. You’ll even get better meals.

If she needs affection, give her affection. AND NOT JUST IN THE BEDROOM.

Write a love note to her and let her find it unexpectedly!

Tell her EVERY DAY that you love her.

Remember, your wife will be the expression of how you treat her. What is she like? It depends on YOU!

If she is lonely — share YOUR heart with her.

Make your wife your closest companion and confidante.

If she is weary of everyday chores, take her out to dinner.

When she needs to talk to you, give her your UNDIVIDED ATTENTION. Look into her eyes when she is speaking.

Don’t forget her birthday or your wedding anniversary!

Give, without expecting in return! You’ll be surprised at the changes.

Is this your daily lifestyle?

WE MUST REPROVE, RESIST, AND PRAY!

PrayingFamiliesThe Bible calls believers the SALT OF THE EARTH and the LIGHT OF THE WORLD. Light scatters the darkness and lights the world.

Matthew 5:13-16 (NKJV):
“You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Ephesians 5:11 (NKJV):
“And have no fellowship with the fruitful works of darkness, bur rather expose them.” The KJV says: “reprove them.”

We are called to be good salt, salt that has not lost its ability (spiritually speaking) to enhance flavor. Salt enhances the influence of the believer’s life and witness. Salt overcomes corruption. It purifies and cleanses.

Our compromise of being the light and salt in this world has become a national sin, both in politics, our learning centers, and the churches of our nation. The unbelieving world do not want biblical values in our political system, not in our educational system. However, the founding fathers understood the absolute importance of these values in all aspects of our lives. The separation of church and state is the reason we are in the mess we are in now. Without uncompromising biblical values we have no moral compass.

Did you hear our President’s speech on the night of 4 March? Not only was it a powerful speech (for 90 minutes) but it was jam-packed with what he has accomplished, by the grace and the zeal of God, in the first 43 days since his inauguration. It was mind boggling, to say the least. I do not think that any president in America’s history has accomplished more in their one, or even two terms, to bring down corruption like this man has.

However, the evil swamp has compromised this nation in a huge way. Did you see the faces of the Democrat party as Trump shared the long list of where our tax dollars are being wasted all over the world on projects that have no moral justification? Some of these countries have no significance and have not even been heard of. Many of these countries are receiving millions, and even billions, of our hard-earned tax dollars.

It is particularly important that our newly appointed leaders to Trump’s cabinet carefully follow the money trail by whatever means possible in order to find out how much of this money is landing back into the pockets of many of our corrupt politicians.

It is obvious that many of these corrupt politicians, including RINOS in the Republican party dislike, and even bitterly hate Trump. They are guilty of massive bribery. All this must be brought to the light and all those involved should be convicted. If it is possible for AI technology to help expose evil doers and bring them to justice, then it should be used. I have always been cautious about AI as it can be used for great evil but those who really want to be used of God to resist evil by whatever means should pray about this matter.

The swamp must be destroyed, or the swamp will destroy us, and all the good foundations on which our country was built. Exposing evil is not enough. It must be followed with true justice and judgment otherwise we will not stop the evil at all.

With God’s help we must apprehend, convict, and put a stop to the evil people who offer and take bribes. These people have no moral compass and do not care that the great values of our country are being trampled on. They are false and fake leaders who only care about themselves.

We who agree with our president must use every spiritual weapon that God, who is the LORD OF HOSTS, so generally provides. Our No. 1 weapon is prayer. Prayer is infinitely greater than most people realize. Our president cannot succeed in draining this swamp of evil on his own. He desperately needs a spiritual army of prayer warriors to “fight, fight, fight” for him day and night.

This is where you and I come in. We make up this massive army of people who believe in the power of prayer offered in Jesus’ name. This is our great opportunity to win the battle against evil with tremendous victory. It’s a day-by-day battle until final victory is achieved. I believe that the victories which are presently being achieved are happening because this praying army is arising. What a privilege to be part of it.

God has given us the power to bind up the powers of darkness and to loosen the captives from their grip.

Atthew 18: 18-20 9 (NKJV):

“Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

Again I say unto you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.

For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

We must reprove, resist, and pray. And we will be rewarded!

Be encouraged.
