YOU ARE QUEEN OF YOUR DOMAIN

“And the angels who didn’t keep their position of authority
but left their home He put in everlasting chains and gloom
to be kept for the judgment of the great day”
(Jude 1:6).

QueenOfYourDomain

God gives to all His creation a purpose and sphere in which to rule and reign. God gives boundaries to the seas. They can only go so far. God says in Jeremiah 5:22: “Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree that it cannot pass it, and though the waves thereof toss themselves yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can thy not pass over it?”

And then I read yesterday in Genesis 1:16: “And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night.” Even the sun and the moon have their boundaries. God gave to the sun dominion to rule over the day and the moon to rule over the night. Imagine if the moon became dissatisfied with its own realm and decided it wanted to rule over the day instead. It would cause mayhem.

And yet the moon is not inferior to the sun. God calls them both GREAT. Psalm 136:7-9 speaks again: “To him that made GREAT lights: . . . The sun to rule by day: . . . The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth forever.” He gave to both a sphere of rulership and dominion.

He also gave glory to both. 1 Corinthians 15:41 says: “There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.”

God has also given dominion to his highest creation, the male and female. God’s first words to Adam and Eve were not only to be “fruitful and multiply” but to “subdue” and “have dominion.” God has given dominion to both male and female. He has given dominion to the male to conquer the earth, to take leadership, and to protect and provide for their families.

God has given a specific dominion to women. He has given her rulership over her home and managing her household affairs. 1 Tmothy 5:14 says: “I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.” God has given GREAT and GLORIOUS spheres to both man and woman. Both are superior and God-ordained.

The phrase “guide the house” is the word oikodespoteo. The Topical Lexicon reveals that it comes from two Greek words: oikos meaning “the home, the family” and despotes meaning “master or lord.”

The Lexicon further states: “This verb is used in the context of managing or overseeing the affairs of a household, often implying authority and responsibility over domestic matters . . . In the cultural context of the New Testament, the household was a fundamental unit of society, and its management was crucial for the well-being and order of the family.

“It underscores the importance of the role of women in maintaining the household, ensuring its smooth operation, and upholding the family's reputation within the community . . . it includes nurturing relationships, instilling values, and providing spiritual guidance.

“In a broader theological sense, the management of a household can be viewed as a microcosm of God's governance over His creation, where order, provision, and care are paramount. The faithful execution of household duties reflects the character of God and serves as a witness to His order and love.”

We know that God created the male before the woman. He didn’t bring forth the woman until He had the garden home of Eden ready for her. When she woke up to life, she was in the place God provided for her.

It is most important that we understand the specific sphere (and boundary) that God has given to us. It is a realm of government. Yes, we to master and manage the home. This of course does not mean that we lord it over our husband or become the head of the home. But God has given to us our home which is our realm of governance and where we reign as queen. The sky is the limit as God gives us anointing and vision to raise godly children in the home and to accomplish great things that affect the whole of society.

Satan knows God’s plan and therefore seeks to distort it. He woos mothers out of the home. He taints them with lies that it is an insignificant place when it is really a place of power and authority.

To leave the place that God has given to us is to hurt ourselves. Jude 1:6 gives a warning: “And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved . . . unto the judgment of the great day.” Even the angels had their own particular boundaries. They enjoyed glory and power in their sphere, but some of them were not content.

NEB: “Remember too, the angels, how some of them were not content to keep the dominion given to them, but abandoned their proper home . . .”

NLT: “And I remind you of the angels who did not stay within the limits of authority but left the PLACE WHERE THEY BELONGED . . .”

KNOX: “The angels too, who left the place assigned to them instead of keeping their due order . . . “

May God save us from getting out of His order. Let’s embrace the powerful sphere of authority and influence God has given us as managers of our homes. Raising godly sons and daughters in a godly home is the greatest way to impact a nation.
