I read today in Psalm 106:34, 35: “They (the children of Israel) did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them. But were MINGLED among the heathen, and LEARNED their works.”
God did not want His people to mingle with the nations and the ungodly people around them. He created them to be a separated people UNTO HIMSELF. But sadly, instead of being separated unto God, they began to live like the people around them. And as they did, they began to imbibe their ways. They even began sacrificing their children to idols “and the land was polluted with blood” (Psalm 106:37-39).
My heart grieves as I see many who call themselves Christians living more in line with the world than with God’s word. There are those who confess they believe in God and yet commit abortion (which is murder). A majority of the church no longer stand with God regarding life. There are those who may not believe in abortion, and yet they destroy or deny life through birth control. How many of the Christian church are on the Pill, mostly for convenience or because they don’t want more children? And yet the Pill, scientifically proven, allows abortion to take place in many instances. We have learned the ways of the heathen rather than sticking to God’s eternal word.
When we look around at the church, even in church services, it is often hard to believe we are in a Christian environment. Women are dressed provocatively, low cut dresses, short and tight dresses, tight pants, jeans with bare knees, and sometimes even shorts in the house of God! And sometimes even leading the worship. Help! It doesn’t look slightly like holiness “without which no man will see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14). It looks the opposite.
And what about wedding dresses? Even Christian girls wear strapless, low cut wedding dresses that show cleavage! But we have mingled so much with the world that we think it is the norm.
People who confess they are believers spend more time on social media (and often looking at very doubtful stuff) than they ever do reading God’s eternal word. They spend far more hours seeking out the ways of the world around them than seeking God’s ways.
Dear precious mothers, my heart is grieved. And yet, there is a mother in every family. What are we doing to teach our children a biblical world view? Do all our children have a strong biblical world view on all subjects or are they living by a humanist/worldly world view?
