LIFE PROMOTES LIFE continued, No. 3

LifeLifeI have just talked to my 20 year-old-grandson, Sharar who has a passion to learn about God’s creation. He told me there are two types of stars--yellow dwarfs and red dwarfs. The red dwarf’s light does not promote life, only the yellow dwarf. Most stars are red dwarfs, but the sun that shines down on us each day is a yellow dwarf and it promotes life. This is amazing and reveals the great goodness of our God to His creatures on planet earth.

Our Lord Jesus Christ who confessed He was, and is, the light of the world gives life to those who follow Him. John 8:12 says: “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” In Christ Jesus we have abundant life so that we can shine forth abundant light.

Jesus said in John 10:10: “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” Jesus is abundant life. Why therefore, do many Christians not experience abundant life? The answer lies in our personal relationship to Jesus Christ.

We’ve all heard the saying, “Bread is the staff of life.” We also know that Jesus Christ is the Living Bread” (John 6:35). Therefore, if we do not experience abundant life it is because we do not feast on the Living Bread. We have such small appetites for Christ. Therefore, instead of abundant life, we have stunted life. This results in weak light.

Men, we must diligently encourage the appetites of our children, as well as our own appetites first, to feast on Christ day by day.

Be encouraged.
