Israel and the Land | Everlasting Possession

The wonderful Scriptures of how God promises the land of Israel to His people for an
EVERLASTING POSSESSION.
It belongs to them by God’s divine order.

EverlastingPossessionIn this time of history when the nations around Israel would like to see her wiped out and israelmapthrown into the sea, we as believers in His Word must know what God says about His people and His land. If we don't know the Scriptures we can be deceived by the propaganda of an ungodly media.

It is not only important for you to know the Scriptures about Israel, but for your children to know them, too. Print off these Scriptures so you can gradually read them personally. I know there are so many--God is not silent on this subject! Read them a little at a time until you have absorbed them all.

Also, use them in your Family Devotions Take a few at a time and read them to your children. Teach your children these promises and discuss them together.

The land of Israel is ultimately God’s land.

“This land shall not be sold forever: for the land is MINE” (Leviticus 25:23).

“(God) will be merciful unto HIS land, and to HIS people” (Deuteronomy 32:43; Ezekiel 36:20).

God is called “the God of the land” (2 Kings 17:26-27).

“Then will the Lord be jealous for HIS land, and pity His people” (Joel 2:18).

“They have divided up MY land” (Joel 3:2; 2 Chronicles 7:20; Psalm 85:1)).

“The LORD’S land” (Hosea 9:3; Zechariah 9:16).

God gave it to His people Israel by divine covenant.

“I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land… all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession (Genesis 17:8).

“They shall inherit the land forever(Isaiah 60:21).

flowing land - 2Although the Israelites were scattered across the nations because of disobeying God’s commandments, God promised He would bring them back to their land. God cannot, and will not, fail His promises.

“Therefore, behold the days come, saith the Lord, that it shall no more be said, The Lord liveth, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; but, the Lord liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers” (Jeremiah 16:14-15 and 23:7-8).

“Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The Lord of hosts is his name: if those ordinances depart from before me, saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me forever. Thus saith the Lord; if heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the Lord”(Jeremiah 31:34-37 and 33:23-26).

“Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul (Jeremiah 32:41).

“Then they shall know that I am the Lord their God because I sent them into exile among the nations, and then gathered them into their own landI will leave none of them remaining among the nations any more(Ezekiel 39:28 RSV).

There is not only one promise of them coming back to the land, but over 100 promises. You will be inspired as you read every promise! Jews are now living in Israel from 102 nations of the world and 88 different languages, and all speaking or learning Hebrew.

“And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls” (Isaiah 60:10).

“And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers” (Isaiah 61:5).

“Thou shalt yet plant vines upon the mountains of Samaria, the planters shall plant, and shall eat them as common things” (Jeremiah 31:5).

“And I will give her her vineyards... she will sing there as in the days of her youth” (Hosea 2:15).

“The mountains shall drop sweet wine... And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them. And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the Lord thy God” (Amos 9:13-15).

"For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase"(Zechariah 8:12).

“For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into yourown land” (Ezekiel 36:24). Read also Jeremiah 23:7-8; 42:12; Ezekiel 28:25-26; 34:13; 37:14, 21, 25; 39:28 and Hosea 11:11.

God not only remembers the people of Israel, but the land of Israel.

“Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember: and I will remember the land (Leviticus 26:42). Read also Deuteronomy 32:43.

“Therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God; Thus saith the Lord God to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes, and to the cities that are broken... O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people of Israel; for they are at hand to come. (Now that God's people have come, and are continuing to come, back to the land, God is speaking to it to bring forth fruit. It is happening through the divine Word of the Lord)!

“For, behold I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown: and I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be builded... they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the Lord. Yea, I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance” (from Ezekiel 36. Please read the whole chapter from v.1-30).

Read also Jeremiah 33:22 and 33:11.

God promises to multiply the produce of the land when His people return.

"For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things"(Zechariah 8:12).

Deuteronomy 30:3, 9; Isaiah 27:6; 44:23; 61:3; 65:21; Jeremiah 32:15; Ezekiel 28:26; 36:8, 29-30; 34-36; Joel 2:21-27; Amos 9:13-14 and Zechariah 8:11-12.

God promises to multiply His people when He brings them back to the land.

"And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase" (Zechariah 23:3).

Deuteronomy 30:3, 9; Isaiah 62:4; Jeremiah 3:16-17; 30:18-19; 31:27-28; 33:7, 22; Ezekiel 36:10-14; 37-38; 37:26; Micah 1:2 AMP, Zechariah 8:4-6; 10:8-10 and Micah 2:12.

We must bring these promises before the Lord because not all Jews in the land are embracing all the children God wants them to have to fulfill these prophecies. God wants us to ask Him to fulfill this prophetic word (Ezekiel 36:37).Him to do this (Ezekiel 36:37).

God promises to build up Israel and Jerusalem again. God does not want the building in Israel to stop, but to continue and intensify. It is when He builds upon Zion that He will appear in all His glory.

“When the Lord shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory” (Psalm 102:16).

Psalm 51:18; 69:35-36; 147:2; Isaiah 58:12; 61:4; Jeremiah 30:18; 31:4-6, 28; 33:7; Ezekiel 28:25-26; 36:10, 33, 36; Amos 9:11 and Zechariah 1:16.

“For behold, in those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My land” (Joel 3:1-2).

Israel fills the Bible.

Without the nation of Israel and the land of Israel we would have a very small Bible.

God's chosen people and His chosen land of Israel, including the city of Jerusalem (where God has chosen to place His name), fills the Bible from Genesis to the last chapter of Revelation.

Satan knows that if he can wipe out Israel, he wipes out the eternal living Word of God.

We must faithfully pray for the land of Israel! Every individual believer, every family, and every church should daily pray for Israel. As the nations of the world are coming against Israel, God’s people must pray and stand with God’s eternal Word. Take these promises and bring them before the Lord. We are told in Isaiah 62:6-7 to remind the Lord of His promises.

“I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land…” (Ezekiel 22:30). Also Ezekiel 13:5.

What about Jerusalem?

“Even though you are exiled to the farthest corners of the universe, I will bring you back to Jerusalem. For Jerusalem is the place in which I have chosen to live” (Nehemiah 1:9 TLB).

"I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God" (Zechariah 8:8).

Out of all the cities in the world, God chose Jerusalem to put His name, and to one day reign from this city.

"The Lord has founded Zion" (Isaiah 14:32)

Deuteronomy 12:5, 11-12; Ezra 7:15; 1 Kings 8:29; 9:3; 11:13, 32; 2 Kings 21:4, 7; 2 Chronicles 6:5-6; 7:16; 12:13; 20:9; 33:4; Nehemiah 1:9; Psalm 48:1-2, 8; 68:16; 78:68; 87:1-3, 5; 102:21-22; 128:5-6; 132:13-14 and 135:2.

Isaiah 2:1-3; 8:18b; 14:32; 18:7c; 24:23; 40:2, 9-11; 52:7-10; 68:15-16; Jeremiah 3:17; Ezekiel 5:5; 43:7; Joel 2:32; 3:16-21; Amos 1:2; Micah 4:7; Zephaniah 3:14-16; Zechariah 1:14-17; 2:2-13; 3:2; 8:2-8, 20-23; 14:9-11 and Matthew 5:34-35.

“The house of the Lord which is at Jerusalem” (Ezra 1:3, 5; 2:68; 3:8; 5:2, 15-17; 6:3a, 12, 14—18 and 7:15, 19, 27).

God calls Jerusalem, “My holy mountain” (Joel 2:1; 3:17). It doesn’t belong to anyone else. Read also Psalm 2:6; Isaiah 65:12, 25; 66:20 and Ezekiel 20:40.

God is called the “God of Israel,” but He is also called the “God of Jerusalem (Ezra 7:19).

King David of Israel captured Jerusalem around about 1003 BC.

We do not know the exact date of the following Scripture, but at least we know that the Jews celebrate 3,000 years of their history of Jerusalem.

“And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spoke unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shall not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither. Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion: the same is the city of David. So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the City of David” (2 Samuel 5:6-7, 9).

The Jews will not only return to Israel but to their city of Jerusalem.

Psalm 147:2; Isaiah 2:2-3; 27:13; 31:5; 33:20-21; 35:10; 44:26-28; 52:1-10; 65:18-19; 66:10-13; Jeremiah 3:17-18; 31:6, 38-40; 50:5; Ezekiel 5:5; 20:40; Joel; 2:32; 3:16-21; Obadiah 17; Zechariah 2:4; 3:3-8; 8:1-8, 21-23; 12:1-14 and 14:12-15.

Woe to those who tamper with Jerusalem.

Psalm 125:5-8; Isaiah 29:8; 31:4-5; 50:28; 51:24; 52:9-10; 60:14; Joel 3:2, 19; Amos 1:2 and Zechariah 14:12-15.

We must faithfully pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee" (Psalm 122).

We must remind the Lord of His promises for Israel and Jerusalem.

“I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the Lord (the margin of my Bible says, “you who are the Lord’s reminders”), keep not silence, and give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth” (Isaiah 62:6-7). Read also Psalm 122:6-9; 137:5-6 and 147:2.

“Not one of the good promises which the Lord had made to the house of Israel failed: all came to pass” (Joshua 21:45 NASB).

“Not one word has failed of all His good promise” (1 Kings 8:56 NASB).
