IDEAS FOR DISTRIBUTING

We know Above Rubies is blessing you. However, our vision is to get the magazine out to the people who do not know they need it and are deceived, hurting, and confused. We believe that family life can be restored across this nation as we work together to take God’s truth out into the nation. We must not keep the truth to ourselves. We must share it with others. If we sow sparingly, we will reap sparingly, but if we sow BOUNTIFULLY, WE WILL REAP A BOUNTIFUL HARVEST!

Here are some ideas for you to use in distributing Above Rubies. Use the ideas that are best for you.

BABY CHANGING TABLES

These are a wonderful place to leave Above Rubies. I love to put the magazine and a little message to mothers in a clear plastic bag (which I seal). It is like a gift for the mother who comes to change her baby. I write something like the following: A gift for you, Mother! Take home and be blessed! Especially for you, Mother! Be encouraged, Mama! They have these changing tables in every supermarket and restaurant and wherever you go. Such a lovely place to leave the magazine waiting for the next mother.

WAITING ROOMS

Place them in the waiting rooms of doctors, dentists, hairdressers, solicitors, opticians, Laundromats. Put them in motels, public rest rooms, airports, railway stations, and bus stops. One person wrote, “A guy at our church places one on the bus seat outside his shop. He loves to watch people's reactions. Eventually someone puts it in their bag and then he replaces it.”

Many our Above Rubies distributors find it very effective to write on the front of the magazine, Take me home with you. Or write the message in calligraphy or type it and put it in the plastic bag as above. This is good when leaving them in public places and when handing to people personally as they stay protected.  It is important to make the magazine special and personal to the person finding it, rather than having a pile of magazines.

HOSPITALS

Put them in the waiting rooms at hospitals, especially maternity wards. PERSONAL visitation is the best of course. I know some women who go to the maternity ward of their local hospital once a week with a gift of Above Rubies to each of the new mothers. They roll them up individually and tie on a pink or blue ribbon. You can even beautify a pretty basket to carry them in.

RESCUE MISSIONS/COMMUNITY SOUP KITCHENS/CRISIS PREGNANCY CENTERS

These are very needy places to have the magazines available.

FOOD AND CLOTHING MINISTRIES

When reaching out to the needy with food and clothing, it is an added blessing to give them a copy of Above Rubies.

REST ROOMS AND MOTHER’S ROOMS

Good places to put Above Rubies for weary shoppers with little children, especially if you have a little message with the magazine, Especially for you or Take me home with you.

DAY CARE CENTERS

A wonderful opportunity to get the message of TRUTH to mothers.

CHURCH FOYERS

Have a pile of Above Rubies available at your church.

HANDBAG AND CAR

It is a great idea to keep a few magazines in the car and even in your handbag for when you are out shopping. Put the magazines in a plastic bag when storing them in the car or handbag as they can get mutilated lying around. If you have a magazine in a clear plastic bag, you can place an insert showing, Especially for you , Mother. It makes is so much more personal.

There is always someone you will meet who will be blessed by Above Rubies, especially a mom with little children. One mother wrote to tell us that she always carries Above Rubies in a box in the car, in her purse, or in her diaper bag—always ready to pass on to another mother she meets out shopping, doing errands, in parking lots, and the church nursery.

LIBRARY

Donate some Above Rubies magazines to your local library. You can also donate some of the manuals such as, THE POWER OF MOTHERHOOD, THE FAMILY MEAL TABLE and BE FRUITFUL AND MULTIPLY.

CONGRESSMEN, SENATORS, AND MAYOR OF YOUR CITY

Send a magazine to your local members with a letter encouraging them to take a strong stand to protect marriage and family life.

FRIENDS AND RELATIONS IN OTHER TOWNS

Send them to your friends and relations, even those who are not Christians.  The vision of Above Rubies is to reach the unconverted. Send them to folk in isolated places who don't have the opportunity be encouraged. Send them to friends and relations overseas.

PAPER TOWEL TUBES

One mother saves her paper towel tubes. She rolls up the magazine, inserts it into the tube and then wraps it up with pretty tissue paper or wrapping paper. Sometimes she puts a tea bag, a package of hot chocolate or some special treat for the children in the middle of the rolled-up magazine.  She says, “Above Rubies should be presented as a precious treasure, because that’s just what it is!”

SAVE FOR YOUR DAUGHTERS

Many mothers get extra copies of Above Rubies each time to save to give to their daughters when they are older. What a priceless treasure! Some put them in binders and others have different ideas. One day you can present to your daughter or daughters with binder full of wisdom, inspiration, and encouragement on how to be a godly wife and mother.

BABY GIFTS

This is what one mother does for all her “new mommy friends.” She purchases soft, pretty flannel and makes a baby blanket. She then folds the blanket and places several different issues of Above Rubies in the folds. The mothers are overjoyed with this gift!
