TWELVE BASKETS FULL MENTALITY

However, Thanksgiving should not only be for one special day, but our lifestyle. It’s the lifestyle of God’s kingdom. Colossians 2:7 says: “Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, and ABOUNDING therein with thanksgiving.” Have you noticed that the Bible contains extravagant language?

Our God is an extravagant God. He writes extravagant words. Nothing in the Bible is normal. John 10:10 tells us that Jesus not only came to give us life, but ABUNDANT life. He not only gives us peace, but peace that PASSES UNDERSTANDING (Philippians 4:7). He not only gives us joy, but joy that is UNSPEAKABLE AND FULL OF GLORY (1 Peter 1:8). God not only pardons our sins, but ABUNDANTLY pardons (Isaiah 55:7). And so, we could keep going.

Now we read that we are not only to be thankful, but to be ABOUNDING in thanksgiving. Some translations say: “OVERFLOWING in gratitude.”

What does it mean to abound? When we check the original Greek, we find even more extravagant adjectives. The word abound is “perisseuo” meaning “to superabound, to be excessive, abundant, exceed, over and above.” The Bible uses the same word in John chapter six where Jesus fed the five thousand men, plus others.

Jesus not only fed the people, but fed them to overflowing. When they were all “filled,” Jesus asked them to gather all that was left over, and they filled up twelve baskets full that “remained OVER AND ABOVE (perisseuo)” that which they had eaten.

I believe that we need to come into the TWELVE BASKETS FULL attitude regarding a thankful attitude, don’t you? We all say, “thank you” when someone gives us something or does something for us, but I believe we need to go “over and above” this normality.

How many baskets full do you have over? Perhaps one basket full? You may get excessive sometimes. But not too much. You don’t want people to think are “over the top.” Hey, that’s what you are meant to be! You are never meant to be average, normal, or boring. Especially when it comes to being thankful.

What about two baskets full over? How many times do you thank your husband each day? Do you thank him profusely for even the little things he does for you? Or do you take him for granted? Do you thank your children when they do their chores, or just take them for granted too?

What about three baskets full over and above? Appreciation and gratitude pour from your heart. You don’t have an entitlement mentality. You and I both know that we don’t deserve anything, and therefore we are grateful for every little blessing in life.

What about four baskets full over and above? How our hearts should be filled with thankfulness to God for all His blessings, especially for His great salvation. I cannot refrain from thanking Him every day for His sacrifice upon the cross for me. Our hearts should well up with thankfulness continually through the day for all the wonderful blessings God pours upon us. Often, we don’t see them because of our attitude of ingratitude. That’s why we’ve got to push into the OVER AND ABOVE TWELVE BASKETS FULL ATTITUDE.

What about five baskets full over and above? Are you becoming excessive? Is it becoming normal for you to say, “Thank you soooooo much.”

As I write, I have just gone outside. I was overwhelmed. A slither of a new moon was silhouetted behind the bare trees. It was the most beautiful sight. Of course, I couldn’t help but be filled to overflowing with praise to our wonderful God!

The TWELVE BASKETS FULL attitude can revolutionize your marriage.

The TWELVE BASKETS FULL attitude can revolutionize your family life. Just imagine everyone in the home with this mentality. Outdoing one another with thankfulness. What bliss to live in an environment of thankfulness, blessing, appreciation, and gratitude. It changes everything.

THE OVER AND ABOVE TWELVE BASKETS FULL attitude can change the lives of everyone we meet, and ultimately society.

Amen and Amen, Nancy

Michelle Vernon writes: “URGENT NEED: Loving host families desperately needed for four weeks beginning in December. Will you open your home, so an orphaned child doesn't spend Christmas alone? MUSLIM INVASION

There is a difference of opinion about allowing Muslim people into our nation. I believe that there should be careful screening. It is a fact that many Muslims are coming in with an agenda to take control of our nation. That does not mean we despise them. We as a family have a great burden to pray for the Muslim people in USA and in all their countries that God will move mightily upon them and bring many to salvation.

We have a very dear Muslim friend who has now come to know Jesus. In fact, he was in the mosque in Nashville, Tennessee and had a vision of Jesus on a white horse who said to him that the next day someone would come and tell him about Jesus. The next day our grandson, Zadok, arrived to purchase a car from him and told him about Jesus. He came to Jesus soon after and we now consider him part of our family and all our family celebrations.

But we cannot bury our heads in the sand about the agenda of the radical Muslim people. Did you know that by the sixth century Christianity was firmly established in Saudi Arabia? But 100 years later it was completely replaced by Islam which is now the official Saudi religion. The whole state of a nation can easily be changed

Look how the Muslim invasion is already changing the nation of England.

PETITIONS TO SIGN * BE A VOICE FOR TRUTH

END ABORTION

Protect the preborn and end abortion. Demand that Congress end the unconscionable taxpayer-funding of the abortion industry. Planned Parenthood received over $500 million in forced taxpayer funding last year.

Go to: https://www.liveaction.org/petition/

LIFE AT CONCEPTION ACT

Over 4,000 babies are aborted every day in our nation. That's over 1.6 million every year! By passing a Life at Conception Act, you can end abortion in America!

The Supreme Court itself admitted in Roe that once Congress establishes the personhood of unborn children, they must be protected by the 14th Amendment to the Constitution which explicitly says: "nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty or property."

Since the Supreme Court is waiting for someone to tell them who the law counts as persons, let's not wait another minute!

Your petition will let your Senators and Congressman know that their constituents support full protection for the unborn and that they must stand for life in Washington.

STOP SENDING US TAX DOLLARS TO THE PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY

Tell Washington to pass the Taylor Force Act and deny financial aid to the Palestinian Authority and stop the murders of innocent Israelis and Americans.

In 2016, Taylor was murdered in a knife attack while on a Vanderbilt University trip to Tel Aviv, Israel. His attacker was a Palestinian man who was paid with U.S. tax dollars by the Palestinian Authority, a known terrorist organization, to murder Taylor. The terrorist was killed by police—but his family was left with a lifelong lucrative financial reward:

• Pension for life that is triple the average salary in the West Bank
• Free tuition for life
• Free health insurance for life
• Free clothing allowance for life
• Free monthly stipend—ALL courtesy of U.S. tax dollars.

This practice of financially incentivized murder is known as #PayToSlay. We must stop it.

Each year, the U.S. government gives $300 million in U.S. taxpayer money to the Palestinian Authority for the promotion of peace in the area—but that’s not how the PA uses it:

• In 2016, the PA paid $135 million to terrorists jailed in Israel
• And $183 million to family of terrorists and to incentivize future attacks
• That adds up to more than $300 million to reward and incentivize acts of murder—in one year alone.

When you sign the petition to pass the Taylor Force Act, you:

• Lend your voice to millions of others who are uniting to tell Washington to end #PayToSlay
• Support ending U.S. taxpayer money as financial assistance to the Palestinian Authority until the PA stops payment for acts of terrorism, including financial incentives and rewards to terrorists and their families.
• Show your support for current legislation. In August of 2017, the Act was introduced to the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee and passed by a vote of 17 to 4. As the Act is prepared for presentation to the Senate and House of Representatives, it’s critically important to show support for The Taylor Force Act by signing the petition.

A CANDLE IN THE WINDOW HOSPITALITY NETWORK

Theresa Bowen writes: Do you view your home and family table as a nexus for work, education, worship, community, evangelism, and training in servant leadership? It can be! You don’t have to be Martha Stewart or have a large home to practice true, biblical hospitality. Biblical Hospitality is a unique, divine assignment that pleases God, blesses the home, provides for community, and creates learning and serving opportunities that can last a lifetime . . . a foretaste of heaven.

With household budgets becoming more and more strained, travel can be a challenge! A Candle in the Window Hospitality Network provides a creative, economical alternative. A Candle in the Window is a growing, worldwide network of Christian households delighting in hospitality. Our hope is to multiply the blessings we have experienced in our own home through hospitality as our members travel, share a meal and open up their homes to one another.

Our mission is to provide an ever-expanding online directory to our members, and a secure in house communication network in which to contact potential hosts to set up a conversational dinner and/or overnight stay when traveling through their location.

And while saving money is extremely appealing, we believe the greater blessing will be through hearing of God’s faithfulness recounted around countless dinner tables.

BLESSED BY ABOVE RUBIES

Women all over the world continue to be blessed and encouraged by the ministry of Above Rubies. The following are a few snippets:

“I gave Ari t to a young married friend. Two days later she called to tell me she had decided to quit college and work so she could stay at home full time to be a help meet to her husband. She had the full support and blessing of her husband and she is now happier than I have ever seen her. The stress is gone and now she and her husband have decided to start having children. Before, they were going to wait until she finished college which was going to take several years as she was having to work quite a lot just to pay for it. You have touched many women in your ministry, and this is another blessed one you can add to your list.”

“AR is wonderful. It is so refreshing and encouraging to read your articles lifting families and mothers. I love how you encourage women to fulfil their God-given roles. The world has such a different view, encouraging women to have careers and leave their children. Nearly all the women in my area work outside the home. I know only one other stay-at-home mother. Can’t anyone see that this is the one reason our country is falling apart? No one is raising their own children anymore!”

“AR has been such a blessing in my life. I read and reread them. I have seen God change my heart so much. I love being a mother and no longer desire to be anything else.”

“So many times, you’ve brought living water to my thirsty soul. Please continue the ministry of encouragement.”

“A dear friend gave me some extra copies and I have learned so much! I have laughed, cried, prayed, and praised the Lord while reading them!”

"My ideas on mothering have totally changed for the better.”

“I am a new mother and I can't express my gratitude enough. This is my ONE AND ONLY favorite magazine, but it’s more than just a magazine, it’s more than I can express in words.”

“I just received my AR magazines today. Oh, what a joy! it is like the Ark of God in the house of Obed-Edom (2 Samuel 6:11, 12).”

“Thank you for your heavenly advice.”

“I am always so excited to get a new copy. I treasure them, save them, and read them over and over.”

“Thank you so much! I get so excited when the magazine comes. It’s like gold to me. I so appreciate your vision! Thank you for all you have invested in my life by all the countless hours you have spent editing and whatever else. The articles are life to me. No other magazine has impacted me more than Above Rubies.”

“AR is filling a great void in the world and in the church.”

“AR has literally been life giving to our family.”

“I don't have any social media accounts and so I cannot "like,” “pin,” or "tweet" when I want to shout "AMEN!" after reading your posts. But I want to let you know that your devotionals are such a blessing and encouragement to my heart and soul. Thank you so, so much for writing and ministering to mothers. God bless you, sweet mother to many, including me.”

“Your encouragement is indescribable, dear sister Nancy.”

“Thank you again for bringing out our Heavenly Father’s Word that we trust and hang onto daily!”

“Your Spirit-inspired devotionals encourage me and help me endure the everyday trials that life brings along. Thanks for your truthfulness and love for the family.”

"About 12 years ago when I had only four children I went to an AR retreat in Wisconsin and Nancy's talks changed my direction in enjoying motherhood. We now have 10 children and are enjoying our life."

HAPPY THANKSGIVING AGAIN!

Have a wonderful weekend,

In His love,

Nancy Campbell
