THE MOVING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Part 8

"A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them"
(Ezekiel 36:26-27).

Today we complete the 51 points about the Holy Spirit working in our lives. I can hardly believe that there are so many Scriptures about the working and moving of the Holy Spirit in us. Isn't it wonderful? The Holy Spirit is also a...

46. Teaching Spirit

Jesus promised in John 14:26, "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, HE SHALL TEACH YOU ALL THINGS, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."

Paul confessed in 1 Corinthians 2:12-13, "We have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which THE HOLY GHOST TEACHETH; comparing spiritual things with spiritual." Read also Luke 12:12; John 16:13; 1 John 2:20, 27 and 5:6). How wonderful to know that the Holy Spirit will teach us all things. But, are we listening?

47. Testifying Spirit

In John 15:26 Jesus said that the Holy Spirit "shall testify of me." The Holy Spirit, who dwells is in our hearts, wants to witness and speak of Jesus. He witnesses to us of the wonderful revelation of Christ sacrificing Himself for our sins (Hebrews 10:15). The Holy Spirit also witnesses with our spirit that we are children of God (Romans 8:16; 1 Corinthians 12:3 and 1 John 5:6).

48. Transforming Spirit

2 Corinthians 3:18 says, "But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." The word "changed" is the Greek word metamorphoo which means "a change of one thing to another." It was used of Jesus being transfigured (Matthew 17:2). One day, we will be transfigured too. But, even now on this earth, by the power of the Holy Spirit working in our lives, He is changing us into the image of Christ. It is an invisible transformation that becomes visible as we allow the Holy Spirit to work in us (Romans 8:29 and 12:1-2). What a miraculous work of the Holy Spirit that He is able to change us into Christ's image as we yield to Him.

The transforming power of the Holy Spirit in our lives should affect our marriage relationship and the way we minister to our children each day in our home. Are we being transformed each day, or are we still the same as we were a year ago?

49. Truth-revealing Spirit

Jesus said in John 16:13, "Howbeit, when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come." Read also Luke 2:26; John 14:16-17; 15:26; Acts 1:1-2; 1 Corinthians 2:9-13; Ephesians 3:4-6; Hebrews 9:8 and 1 John 5:6.

Don't you long for truth? Every day of my life I cry out to God to understand His truth. I pray that I will not be sucked into deception. I am so thankful for the indwelling of the Holy Spirit within me who has promised to guide me into all truth.

50. Unifying Spirit

The Holy Spirit is not a dividing Spirit, but a unifying spirit. When we allow the Holy Spirit to control our lives, He will woo us to unity--in our marriage, home life, and all our relationships. This is certainly not easy, because upsets and offences are part of life. It is easy to become hurt and bitter. But, as we yield to the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, He will give us the wisdom and the anointing to walk in unity. And it certainly is only by the power of the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 4:3 says, "Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace."

51. Writing Spirit

I only discovered this aspect of the Holy Spirit as I came to the end of this wonderful list. But, it is such a wonderful truth. 2 Corinthians 3:3 says, "Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart."

Did you know that you are a personal letter from God to your husband. A personal letter to your children. A letter to everyone you speak to and come in contact with. Who writes this letter? It is the Spirit of the living God. But, He can only write on certain people. God has done away with writing on tablets of stone and now He looks for hearts of flesh (Ezekiel 11:19 and 36:26-27). Soft hearts. Pliable hearts. Willing hearts. When the Holy Spirit finds a soft heart, He writes on it the ways of God.

Then He wants His ways declared for all to read and see. The words "manifestly declared" actually mean "to remove the lid." Are you lifting the lid on your life so that everyone around you can see what the Holy Spirit is writing on your heart? Are you blessing your family through the anointing of the Holy Spirit working in your life?

He wants to work in your life and in the lives of your family. Philippians 2:13 says, "For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure." Allow Him to work all His good pleasure in you.

PRAYER:
"Oh precious Holy Spirit, please come to my heart and write on my heart. Please show me any areas in my heart and life that are hard and stony. I want a soft, pliable, fleshly heart in which you can engrave your words and ways. Amen."

AFFIRMATION:
I am a letter from God, written by the Holy Spirit, for all my family and friends to read.
