BEYOND YOUR HOME

Psalm 93:5 tells us that "Holiness becometh thine house, O Lord, forever." God used to dwell in the Holy of Holies in the temple. Now He dwells in our bodies, and also wants to dwell in our homes. Therefore, holiness should be the atmosphere of our homes, too. In fact, holiness should not only fill our home, but the whole area around our home.

Ezekiel 43:12 says, "This is the law of the house; Upon the top of the mountain the whole limit thereof round about shall be most holy. Behold, this is the law of the house."

This is such a challenging question, isn't it? Does the presence of God in our homes penetrate beyond our homes? Does it exude out into our neighborhoods and influence everyone around us? Are our homes like lighthouses, beaming out God's love and salvation, and yes, His warnings too, to the world around?

This is the power of a holy home. I'm not talking about a "religious" home. Some "religious" homes that are filled with laws and regulations can also filled with backbiting, bitterness, heaviness, and oppression. I'm talking about a home filled with the presence of God where there is holy joy, delight, liberty, sweetness, prayer, and praise.

How far does the influence of your home extend in this world?
