LIFE-GIVING OR LIFE-DESTROYING?

Men, sweet words are very powerful for good. We are reminded of Proverbs 18:21: “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” I think that more people are destroyed every day by the power of the tongue than by any other means. Amazing, but true.

People may not be in literal coffins because of slaying, critical words from fathers and mothers. However, we may be surprised how many could actually be in an early grave because of the tongue’s devastating effects on their lives.

One can be emotionally, spiritually, and physically in a coffin while they are still walking. There are multitudes in our amazingly free western nations that are deeply wounded and bound because of the negative power of the tongue. These people may not be in wheelchairs literally, but they are in wheelchairs and hopelessly crippled because of a spouse’s or father or mother’s tongue. Many talents and gifts are crushed and countenances are lifeless. They will not every reach their fullest potential unless someone with sweet, life-giving words ministers healing to them.

Husbands and wives, fathers and mothers, let the Holy Spirit get control of your tongue, right now. Today. Before it does any more damage! The tongue can be such a wrecking ball, but on the other hand, it can be such a power for good.
